I'm getting a puppy! It's a boy and he's like a brown mutt. What are some good names for him??? I want something kind of different, not your everday dog names.

We named our dog "Diefenbaker". We later came to learn that was a Canadian Prime Minister's name. I also understand he was not very well liked. So, if you want to "diss" someone, name him after someone you don't like.

Here are a few Ormar, Shadow, Jake, Marshall, I do know that dogs seem to do better when their name has two syllables.

The dog seam to come to names that sound like e or y at the end . Like lassie , bootsie , and I also heard the shorter the name the better boomer , rocket . Look at your dog , stare at him and a name will come to you.

What is his personality? Is he playful and rowdy all the time? Does he cuddle with you allot? Is he small?Pick a name you think fits him. I like the names: Pebbles, Cocoa, Cinnamon, Mario, Cashew, Peanut, Hershy, Twix and Snickers. You could go to web sites like: www.Dognames.com or www.petnames.com. I found names there I liked. Good luck!

If he's brown and had a sweet disposition, how about "Hersey" like the candy bar.
