Why is the crappy stuff always so loved?

I can't understand why in America do we love the crappy cheap stuff over the good cheap stuff so much, and have passionate opinions about it! McDonalds is terrible, but everyone eats it even though Burger King is just as cheap but much better food. Budweiser, Miller, and Coors dominate the beer market when they are clearly inferior to nearly every other beer out there, even other inexpensive beers! Honda and toyota cars are poorly built and not as reliable as they once were, but they continue to outsell superior cars from brands like Mazda! What is wrong with this country? To toyota being one of the best built cars out there: They were. They are not anymore. Toyota recalled over 1.2 million cars in the last year. The new tundra has been experienceing problems left and right. Big stuff like broken crankshafts. They've lost their touch. Toyota execs have publicly admitted "shame" over this car. Camrys 1997-200x had problems with engine sludge. Corollas have had problems with fit and finish for years. besides, they are boring cars.
