I am getting a baby Shih Tzu that is black with white around the eyes. I live in the city and need a small dog that will keep me entertained that I can also entertain by walking around. I have thought of a couple of names for it. I want it to be be a fun name and nothing to human like. Suggestions would be great. Thanks Tader Tott Toby Sirus Rudy Sorry for Failing to Mention it was a boy. I was thinking of Dillin or Oragami.

i like toby. i have a shih tzu, and hes a brown color... adorable. I named him max a while ago, because the woman at the dog store said he looked like a max. I thnk you'll know when you see him.

Shih Tzu are of oriental origin. Look in that direction. Anime names are good. Any name you might might find in a Japanese manga site. I have a male Shi/Lahsa, his name with me is Chisai. To my daughter and wife, he is Lil' Dude. Chisai means small. I had a Lhasa Apso who was peach and cream. I called him Momo(taro), Peach Boy. He was called by daughter and wife, Hoover. My sister has a shi tzu that I called Rimpoche or precious in the Tibetan language. It means precious. The dog is now called Precious. I like names that fit the origin of the dog.

We too have a new Shih Tzu. He is black with a very small bit of white under his neck. We ended up with Tuxedo, Tux for short. We thought of a few others, Oscar becuase his "smooshed" hairy face looked a bit like Oscar the Grouch from Sesame. My husband and I like Ralphie (from the Christmas Story) but my kids did not like it. We also thought of Chief or Mr. Big. I think big names are cute for small pup's. Enjoy him!!
